The Big Garage

Classic Cars. Great Stories. A Community.

What started with a passion for classic cars has grown into a community of people who appreciate the craftsmanship, history, and stories behind them. This gallery is a collection of some of the incredible cars we’ve had the pleasure of admiring along the way.

People often ask me why I bought a classic car.

It's a funny question because my immediate thought is always, "Why not?" Most folks see an old car and think of oil leaks, lost weekends in the garage, and heavy steering. I just see pure, unfiltered soul. I’ve always loved classics. From my Papa Joe's 1970s tank of a Cadillac convertible to my uncle's split-window Corvette. I love the car shows, the shiny chrome, and the smell of a true vintage engine. There is absolutely nothing in the world like feeling the roar of an old gas engine. So when I brought home my 1965 Pontiac GTO, it wasn't just a passion purchase. It was the next step in a lifelong investment journey.

Years ago, when I changed jobs, I pulled the money out of my modest retirement account. It wasn't much, but that little bit of money changed my life. My husband and I used it to buy the property for our current tree nursery. We wanted to own the land our business sat on so we were no longer at the mercy of landlords and rent hikes. We wanted roots (nursery joke intended!). After we recouped that money, it sat safely in a CD earning a little interest while I waited for the next right move. That's where the car comes in. It was my next investment.

Are all cars investments? Absolutely not, but classic cars can be if you hold onto them. The biggest difference between my GTO and the stock market? I CAN DRIVE IT! It’s an appreciating asset that I get to actively enjoy on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

The Real Estate Connection: Why This Matters for YOU

When you look under the hood, my journey from a retirement account, to nursery land, to cruising in a GTO is built on the exact same playbook I use in my real estate business every single day:

  1. Escape the Landlord Trap: Renting builds someone else’s equity. Buying our nursery land gave us stability and peace of mind. Buying a home does the exact same thing: it locks in your costs and puts your money toward your future.
  2. Scarcity Always Wins: They aren't making any more original '65 GTOs, and they aren't making any more land. Finite assets naturally push value up as demand grows.
  3. Rolling Capital into Your Next Move: Momentum builds over time. A small seed sum bought land, which paid for itself, sat in a CD, and eventually funded a GTO. Real estate works the same way. You start with a manageable starter home, build equity, and use that growth as a launchpad for your next big upgrade.
  4. The "Drive It" Factor: You can't take a brokerage statement for a spin, and you can't raise a family inside a phone app. Tangible assets give you a Lifestyle Dividend (making memories today) while financial growth builds in the background.

The Bottom Line

Stop trading your hard-earned time for things that lose value the second you buy them. Live YOUR Luxury

Real estate here isn't something I learned from a textbook — it's something I grew up in. From ranch fences to title work, three generations of local roots mean I bring more than market knowledge to every transaction: an honest, ground-level understanding of this land and the people who call it home.
